Digital Transformation: A Foundational Capability Building Block Perspective on Maturing the IT Capability

The enterprise-wide scope of an organisation’s IT capability in sustainably leveraging technology for business value is well-researched, and the level maturity this a key determinant success. has become more critical as technological developments continue at accelerated pace whole industries are being disrupted by digital developments. Maturity terms leadership, processes, infrastructure, myriad other supporting organisation-wide capabilities required. Since 1980s, models literature have focused on specialist niche areas, with few adopting holistic perspective. Across these models, lack consensus evident that should be matured what important sub elements or building blocks are. How does organisation achieve adequate if required unclear? 
 As one most identified, paper undertakes systematic analysis 36 within Capability Framework (IT-CMF) 315 (Capability Building Blocks (CBBs)) comprise capabilities. This research aims to identify common inherent across capabilities, which we will refer Foundational (FCBBs), high-level definition FCBBs abstracted from relevant discussed their recognised importance effecting successful transformations.
